Weather
Foggy with calm winds and no precipitation at pass level.
Snowpack
The photos are from yesterday and show the distribution of old snow in a few of the highway paths. This old snow layer consists of a few inches of melt forms capped by a melt-freeze crust on southerlies, and 1-2mm moist, rounding facets topped by a 1-2" thick crust elsewhere. The new snow came in warm and wet and is bonding well to the old snow surface. Any problems will be confined to the new snow. Currently, we are still at None on Molas and Coal Bank, but this storm may push us to Notice if we receive the high end of forecast snowfall.
