Weather

Warm, clear, and calm. Hi Temp near 40 at 10,800'.

Snowpack

Very little continuous snow remains in the souther Gunnison zone. Sun-soaked slopes are generally bare ground with only patchy snow above 12,000'. Even sun-protected slopes are quite thin with most ground cover protruding through.

Avalanche

I found evidence of 3 distinct avalanches that ran off the east end of pt. 11,975' that impacted USFS road 765 (Cumberland Pass Road) during the March 2019 cycle. Each avalanche broke and moved many trees in the 8-16" diameter at breast height size range. These were small D4's or large D3.5's.
