Weather

Mostly clear skies in the morning with increasing clouds during the day. Warm temperatures, 50F at 1400 at Pass level.

Snowpack

Last week's new snow (20", 4/30-5/2) is still settling. Found a good 5cm frozen surface crust in spite of the marginal freezing temperatures. By afternoon that crust was breaking down into soft, wet old powder. Start early, finish early, and pay attention to aspect for the best riding.

Avalanche

Recent observed wet snow avalanche activity has been isolated and small (D1).
