Early morning obs at Est Roaring Fork under mostly broken skies with fairly steady S-1. Temperatures remained cool and the wind was W or NW light

Deeper freeze than the night before with the MFcr at the surface visibly composed of the late April / early May snow and some of the older snow prior to 4/26. Instability test produced an easy resistant shear in the middle of the wet layer below the crust which immediately glued back onto the column. Contrast to the more sudden character of the failures and fractures at West Roaring Fork which failed at the interface of the late April HST. Surface crust was rough textured. DH was considerably less reactive than last site visit in early April and much more rounded. Isothermal temperature profile
