Weather
Patchy socked in cloud cover that ranged from vertigo-inducing white to beautiful pockets of blue sky and crisp peaks. Calm winds and about 5 inches of fresh snow. Something to note is there was a small layer of rime covering the north-facing sides of the trees.
Snowpack
Our pit site was a flat area adjacent to Senator Beck Weather Station at 12,210 feet. A 10cm pencil hard slab is sandwiched between two slabs of almost equal width. 1F above and 4F facets below. Almost half the snowpack consists of weak facets that sit on the ground. An ECT produced no results. PST 80/100 (End) down 55 on 240126.
