Weather

Another day of everything. Sun, snow at an inch an hour, wind, and periods of calm. Overcast skies and periods of sunshine.

Snowpack

There is 40 cm (16 inches) of snow in this area since snow started again on February 2. On southerly below treeline slopes there is melt freeze crust in the middle of this snow. This was the break between the two February storms. On northerly below treeline slopes there are no buried crusts. 40 cm of soft fist-hard snow sits over a layer of surface hoar and facets. The surface hoar was unreactive in tests as the slab is still too soft to communicate a fracture.
