Snowpack

A single snowpit dug on a north aspect at 10,500ft showed the mid-January weak layer buried 48cm deep. This layer propagated with hard taps in an ECT (ECTP22). It was hard to discern a notable difference in hand hardness at this layer nor were the grains easy to identify with the naked eye. I suspect this layer could be more sensitive to triggers on east and southeast aspect where a facet/crust combo is found.
