Compression test Moderate 11 down 60cm on new snow/Facet interface. Extended Column test also provided Same results with full sudden planar results on the same interface. No avalanches observed, however cracking by Snowmobiles and Whumpfing was observed my students on AST1 field day. Great snow. 65 cms of new snow sits on approximately 50cm of Facets. The Basal snowpack is a melt freeze cohesive/dense (pencil/knife resistance) layer that was formed by warm October temperatures. Ideal layering is in place for avalanches capable of burying people (slab avalanches) choose your terrain wisely!
