Windy day up at Burstall Pass today. Lots of wind transport affecting everything. Total snow depth was 175 cms on a west aspect. We dug a pit just above tree line on a 26 degree slope at about 2300 m around 12:30 today. Top 5 cms was wind transported snow, hadn't sintered yet and was loose. Below was a slab that extended 20 cms deep, followed by another slab that extended down 50 cms. We did a shovel compression test and results showed it was reactive to 2 hits from the shoulder.
