Went up toward Harvey’s North Ramp this morning. Down low snow was firm with a notable rain crust making quick travel. Once at approx 1100M we hit the snow line of the previous storm. Conditions dramatically changed at this point with 25cm of foot penetration through a definable wind slab layer. Bellow this was the rain crust which was supportive in most spots. Performing a spot test, I cut a tiny sample slope with my ice tool and then give it a good wack above. The sample slope reacted quite easily with the wind slab failing. There is also quite a bit of debris from a wet slide which ran near full length of the ramp (size aprox 1.5). I assume this is no more then 48 hours old based on the timing of the last party I know of going up here and where there tracks disappeared into the avy path.
