Heard drum-like sounds on a rocky cross loaded rib in the alpine. Down lower, very easy hand shear results: 5cm wind slab above a pencil hard layer broke on facets or buried surface hoar below tree line. Skiing was really good in protected areas and very firm (and supportive) on south aspects above 2200m.
