Punchy & somewhat chalky snow in the upper section with a few cm of some lighter stuff overlying it. Chopped cornice back by 2 feet or so on skier's right, it was pretty hardpacked. Snow in the couloir was unreactive to the dropping snow from the cornice, and also a belayed ski cut. Notable surface hoar on the ridge, not present in STS.
