Went to check out Feather Cleveland area on Thursday, to see how the deep persistent slab problem is behaving in zones closer to the Coast. Short summary not better. Snow surfaces is wind affected from the strong south and north wind from earlier this week. We have a couple large whoumpfs between 1200 and 1400m. Remote trigger a size 1.5 coming down from the lpwer feather notch from 200m away. Crown depth up to 1.5 m in a wind loaded feature, about 75m but didn't run very far. The only place where the snowpack feels better is above 1500m where the crust facets combo is not as obvious and weak. Still not very tempting. to commit to steeper and bigger slopes.
