The previous days solar affect caused a sun crust at around 1800m and down on the slide path. The snow at the top of the main chute was uniform and lacked evidence of wind pressing and slab properties. However a hand shear test slid very easily so we did not cross the skin track traversing the start zone. Skiing the top was incredible. The Freezing level at 1400m meant the snow down low got heavy.
