Cougar Creek East

Decent skiing high up on cougar Creek East. Surface hoar started to appear at 1700m on north aspects and was present the rest of the way up 2000m. Top 5 to 7 cm of snow was extremely reactive - even a pole could trigger a sluff (see pic). Not a big problem today, but will be scary once new snow is on top of this completely unbonded layer. Final 200m of skiing, the surface became less reactive.
