Gypsum Ridge - Crusty & Cruddy

Poor ski conditions at Gypsum Ridge today: soft crust (presumably from the Friday heat) nearly to ridgetop (2100m) with loose/faceted snow underneath on North aspect. Evidence of wind from the South (scoured on South aspect and small cornices North side). Still lots of small trees and bushes exposed added to the tricky conditions. No new avalanches observed. Good hiking conditions with a hard-packed trail. We stepped out and walked the final bit to the car.

Ridgetop was -4C at ~1pm and surprisingly low winds. A few flakes fell during the day, but virtually no new accumulation.
