Had a look up the microwave tower road. ~40cm at the gate and a long skin to treeline. Closer to 60cm at the top. Whumphing as we reached treeline. Major wind effect at the ridge top stripped it down to bare rock for the most part. Some wind sheltered gullies filled in sufficiently for turns but still really sharky! Best skiing was on the road back down just below treeline.
Weather
Cold (-8) at ridge top with clouds building throughout the day. Wind increasing and light precip starting as we descended.
Avalanche
Small avalanche in a cross loaded slope near ridge crest. We opted to avoid the main gully on a lower angle rib but the second skier to descend triggered the slab which pulled out into the gully with the skier turning off of it. Failed on the summer/fall old-snow crust.
