Day started warm and sunny, but then clouded up and cooled. Slopes below treeline had softened crust and wet sticky new snow around tree bands. Hard to skin. Above treeline it was hard, windy and new snow had been blown away. No signs of natural avalanches. The alpine bowl looks fat with wind blown snow on the lee sides, and good size cornices. I stayed away from it and just rode the trees and glades from the knob.
