Purple Knob

Approach to purple in decent shape with new snow on Saturday night. Avoided ski crampons till the last 100 m and then needed them. Ice and snow combo made crampons not very effective so ended up boot packing to the col. Would not want to be anywhere near this slope in sunny conditions as it’s just going to get worse.. seriously threatened by a set of huge cornices to the left of the col, plus the main cornice at the col Skiing North face was good for lower 2/3, top 1/3 wind blasted with limited HS. Also skied bottom 2/3 of Black Prince Col, skied great but melt crust present throughout. Hero’s knob was slammed with folks, quite the conga line
