Pre-storm

I was fairly low in the valley today, under 1300m and noticed a 3-5cm pencil crust on steep solar aspects. It was very isolated to those slopes, as once you moved to less steep terrain it would disappear. Faceted snowpack below the crust. Not significant today but will be a tricky weak layer after the next storm and likely result in triggerable areas with a slab on top. Otherwise, great snow - cold and deep.
