Quick report

Below 1800m early season conditions still exist. Very good powder skiing to be found at higher elevations in select areas. Akamina Parkway is track-set for cross country skiing from Little Prairie to Cameron Lake

Weather

Low visibility made it difficult to gather observations

Snowpack

15-25cm of new snow adds to previous snow for a storm total of 45cm with L-M winds. This overlies a 20-40cm windslab in the alpine and at treeline. The lower snowpack consists of Dec and Nov crusts. HS at TL is 100 - 180 cm deep.

Avalanche

A couple of loose dry avalanches were triggered as sluff while skiing in steep open terrain below treeline. These sluffs entrained snow and ran fast to size 1. Good sluff management kept skiers out of harms way.
