We skinned up to Dispatcher Bowl today. Temperatures were mild, flurries occurred throughout the day, and there was some wind transport of snow. We felt the snowpack collapsing as we were climbing though Dispatcher Bowl above about 2050 m. We dug a quick pit at 2200 m and observed easy sudden planar failure of the upper 45 cm snow on the melt freeze crust (see photo). Small wet loose failures and pinwheeling were noticeable below about 1800 m.
