Weather
Sunny with little to no wind around 15F. I did snow the previous day to which accumulation seemed to be 8-12cm that was followed by a clear, cold night with temps around 5 F that morning.
Snowpack
Snow was soft and deep in the protected trees but above tree line started to create a small storm crust on the surface.
Avalanche
A backcountry partner and I took 5-6 steps off a snowmobile track towards the ENE slope while still on flat terrain and we remotely trigger a slide from above. The crown range was 100-250cm, the slide ripped to the ground in some areas. The slope looked wind loaded from below and cracked in areas where it didn’t slide. The slope width was the same as the height ranging from 200-250ft.
