Snowpack

On a southeast aspect just above treeline, I found an isothermal snowpack that consisted entirely of melt and ice fomrs. The upper snowpack was wet to about 20cm below the surface. Below this the snowpack was moist to the ground. See pit profile for more detail. Below treeline on a north aspect near the 80 highway path the snow surface and upper snowpack remained cold and dry.
