Snowpack

The snowpack is in retreat along the 145 corridor. The snowpack never got very deep due to persistent drought conditions this winter season. Now, the strengthening springtime sun and mild temperatures have quickly begun to erode what snow exists in the paths along the corridor. Northerly slopes continue to hold contiguous snow cover, but snow on sunny and lower elevation slopes has become patchy. Many paths hold insufficient snow to support flows to the highway. The snowpack is largely isothermal in areas where snow cover persists.
