Large cornice failure near Pulpit Peak

Witnessed a rather large natural cornice failure on the east aspect of the large face behind Pulpit knob. It triggered a reasonably large avalanche which ran down to the lower slopes between pulpit knob and the big face. Just a reminder that the objective hazard from cornices is real! The weather was particularly warm and mild.
