Dug my first pit of the season at 1850m yesterday in the Pemberton backcountry...base is sitting at 170cm...profile was 107cm down where the early November crust sits on a 20 degree slope. It was dug on a south east aspect. Foot pen 50cm... CTM 15 down 37cm reacted with a resistant planar CTH 4 down 57cm reacted with a resistant planar For those who don't talk snow science basically means that the first 57cm is reactive. All the new snow is settling nicely but tread lightly on the steeps!
