White Pass = windy pass. Lots of snow being moved around up there. Winds were gusting up to 60 km/h all day, and vis came and went. Conditions were super variable from bottomless pow in the trees and sheltered area to almost (and soon to be) wind blasted crust above treeline. Dug a couple of pits, around treeline on the NE apsect. 225 cm of total snow, 15 cm of new snow, snow densitiy increased with depth. A 15 cm thick ice crust was about 80 cm down. A second ice layer was encountered at the bottom of th pit (~115 cm down) this layer seemed much thicker and very difficult to dig into.
