Kootenay Pass

Lots of fresh snow up at Kootenay Pass ~30cm. Could feel the Dec 15th layer through the snow pack. Mellow turns through trees and open slopes. Set off a localized slab avalanche (see picture) making a turn near the bottom of a convex feature. This was around 11am. The storm tapered off around 1pm and the snow was gradually settling over the day.
