Snowpack

The snowpack varies greatly depending aspect. The surface snow on the most southerly slopes was actively melting under strong sun and well above-freezing temps. More east and westerly slopes held surface crusts that ranged from .5 to 5 cm in thickness, with cold snow below. Northerly slopes remained cold and dry with the faceting process dominating. Tired powder. The storm slab from Jan 9-11 was notably less reactive today. No cracking or collapsing.

We continue to see evidence of the widespread natural cycle from the Jan 9-11 storm as well as remotely triggered slides from BC travelers after the storm.
