Weather
AM- cold and snowy, with light winds and steady S1 until noon. PM- aft got warm, precip abated, temps rose, solar made an appearance
Snowpack
Observed since Tues on RMP east: 2 to 4 inches fresh- BTL 4-6 inches fresh NTL 6-8 inches NTL/ATL interface!!! Fresh is spongy with a layer of surface graupel New sits upon a variety of crust/facet combos over a varied pack depending on aspect and el.
Avalanche
At 1300, temps rose above freezing. At approx 1500, the temps continued to rise quickly and the sun came out. This change was enough to touch off numerous moist loose pt release slides on steep slopes and off off RMP's east side geology (office & annex). Roller balls built mass quickly- Watched the Longfellow path slide D1.5, wet loose, full track- this all happened very quickly, late in the aft. Sun went away, temps dropped and action had stopped by 1620
