The road out to the pass was blocked because of an avalanche so we went out to Annie Lake road past the Wheaton River bridge and up the valley before Talley-Ho . There was a mass of new snow that had been moved around by the winds. There were many whompfs, shooting cracks, and blocks breaking off where our skis cut in the track. We stayed super mellow and used our backcountry cross country skis since we decided we wouldn't be making any turns today. Great day to be outside with a spicy snowpack.
