At 11:00 am, the Putney weather station located nearby recorded southwest winds blowing at 20 mph with gusts of 31 mph. The temperature increased from 29°F at 11 am to 35°F at noon. The skies were crystal clear during the morning but around 12:30 pm, cirrus and cumulus clouds started streaming in.

Yesterday's rollerball activity was observed below 12,000 feet but limited in open terrain lacking rocky features. Widespread point releases originating in rocks were visible off the summit of the west side of Red # 3. The cross-loaded wind features were moist and well-bonded to the crusts below on north-facing terrain.
