Weather

Morning lull in snowfall then picked up to 1 to 2 inches per hour in the afternoon.

Snowpack

Around 10,000 feet at Kebler Pass I found four-foot deep snowpack (120-130cm). Snowpack tests (ECTP11 & 16) broke on two weak layers. Last weekend's storm buried a layer of Surface Hoar that remains upright and reactive now that a thin slab built on top (50cm down). Deeper (80cm down), the mid-November facets continue to propagate cracks in tests. Around 10,000 feet at Lost Lake I found only two to three feet of snow (60-80cm). Here the snowpack was too soft to propagate in tests, lacking a dense slab.
