Loveland Pass, N, 11,600'- Few Clouds, NO Precip, Intense winds at ridge top from the SW transporting snow, top loading and crossroading N-NE aspects. Through out the day winds increased in the afternoon with clouds, then cleared in the late afternoon.
Snowpack
Loveland Pass, NE, 11,800' - HS, 60-75 cm, upside-down snowpack/ strong over weak. 15 degrees slope, ECTP8 down 40 cm, CTV SP Q1 down 40cm HS70cm. Second Pit- CTM SP x2 down 35cm, ECTP15 down 35cm, ECTP12 down 15cm Good facet skiing on protected north- northeast aspects. Thin coverage above tree line.
Avalanche
From the road on the Abasin side of the pass we observed 3 avalanches on southwest aspects D1.5-R2, one was on Daves Wave.
