Weather

Cold, temperatures remained in the single digits through the trip with northwest winds strong enough to transport new snow and obscure most visibility. Snow fell consistently at 1 cm per hour, heavier at times.

Snowpack

Snowpack depth at 10,200 feet ranges between 65 to 80 centimeters and about 25 cm of new snow since 11/28. The bottom 10 cm is weak, cohesionless 3mm depth hoar, propagating extended column tests failed at this layer. ECTP9. A layer of intact surface hoar is visible at 36 cm from the ground. Ski penetration did not produce whumpfing, but boot penetration was very productive on all slopes tested.
