TH @ 12:00 was sunny and warm, folks were in base layers to start touring. Increasing cloud cover throughout the day, calm winds no blowing snow at ridge top. At 11,850 @ 13:30, ENE facing slope air temps from pit data were 35 degrees F. No precip.
Snowpack
Wide spread weak snow. Depth Hoar was prime for margaritas! Areas of wind affected snow. A few folks noticed SH in open slopes near the TH. We found strong over weak NTL on E facing slopes. Our slabs despite supporting our weight on skis were easily breakable, there were a few areas of P thick slab on top of depth hoar. It it important to note that our slabs were faceting throughout all our pits we dug. HS ranged from 25 to 111 on ENE facing slopes NTL. Pit Data: 11:850, ENE, 20 degrees, 111HS - CTMSC down 20cm x 2, & CTN 11:824 E , 16 degrees, 110HS- CTN x 4 (area did have willows present) 11:700 ENE, 20 degrees, 95-105 - CTHSC down 80cm on the Depth Hoar (area did have willows present) x 2, & CTN x 2
