Toured through the Mt Keenan area saturday and sunday, sunday snow was MUCH nicer. Temperatures were cooling ahead of the impending arctic air mass. Saturday night to Sunday afternoon snow total likely 5-10cms, elevation dependant. We did not go higher than probably 4200-4500ft. In the mt Keenan bowl, we saw signs of loose avalanches likely from warming the day prior, and witnessed a small class 1 descend from the upper bowl area. We anticipated triggered from wind or a snow mass falling off of a tree or another feature, we could not see the start zone from our location. Looked to run perhaps 80-100meters. A few hand shears showed that the sat night to sunday snow was the consistent failure, and the fri-sat snow is rather well bonded. Higher up, wind slabs are likely quite dodgey. Snow started to fade around mid day, and then more snowfall moved in at the end of our day fast, and dumped as we were departing from the parking lot. The incoming freeze will certainly change the dynamic of the snowpack!
