Weather

Broken sky cover with moderate winds with little to no active transport.

Snowpack

Near the saddle, we found HS 100 with 1F+ hard slab on top of facet crust combo. This pit produced an ECTN 22 on that facet crust combo with a Q3 shear. Near the top of the summit, we were stepping out to a non exposed spot to dig another test pit and experienced a large collapse, wumph, and saw shooting cracks. The snow that slid was much softer than the test pit below.

Avalanche

Near the top of the Hagar summit, we were stepping out to a non exposed spot to dig a second test pit and experienced a large collapse, wumph, and saw shooting cracks. This triggered an AFr-SS-R3-D2 with a 1' crown that ran approximately 1200' wide and ran to the bottom of the path.
