Metre-plus thick slab of very firm snow slid over the older crust. Skier accidental triggered from ridge top. It started at the top of a chute and propagated across the mid-slope below rock bands. No persons were caught in the slide. Caution, this deep layer is reactive and would generally not be observable at the surface.
