Warm day northeast of Sparwood. On our sled in we saw several natural wind slab avalanches from north through east aspects that we think were from within the last 24 hours. The biggest was a size 3 that was triggered by a cornice fall and ran full path. Most were size 1-2. While walking on a broad corniced ridge we had cornices failing easily under our skis. We made sure to stay well back from the big cornices and not travel under any either. Chose an open spot in the trees away from wind affect to ride and had good conditions.
