Weather
9" new snow. The winds on the ridge were light to moderate out of the SW with snow pluming at times.
Snowpack
9 inches of new on a firm crust underneath that you could feel through the new on all turns. A little blown in and slightly slabby feeling on the start but minimal cracking at all in the new snow. As we got down into the gut the new snow was not nearly as deep and was hot and sticky at about 2 pm.
Avalanche
On the first long pitch venturing from the true ridge on about the third pitch i had a long slow moving sluff D 1.
