Weather
Very nice blustery day with a cold north wind blowing. Ridgelines above tree line were not places to hang out for too long today.
Snowpack
Dug a variety of quick hand pits and found 45-70cm snow with little slab development below treeline and 15-20 cm of facets at the bottom. Near and above treeline we saw shallow wind slabs sitting on top of an unconsolidated snowpack consisting of the recent new snow and older facets-depending on aspect and elevation. Experienced several large rumbling collapses. When visibility permitted, we could see no recent avalanche activity.
