Weather

Few clouds, light westerly winds and temperatures approaching freezing. Schofield maxed out at 34 F at 1300 today.

Snowpack

Skied pitches up to 30 degrees off northeast side of Gothic Mountain. Observed shooting cracks and loud rumbling collapses on west and northeast aspects below treeline. Skiing is supportive with ski penetration of about 15-20 cm but boot penetration is almost full height of the snow. Warmer temperatures are resulting in quite a bit of settlement of past storm snow (ie slab formation).Observed many small older (1/22 storm) naturals on all aspects below treeline. All were in the R1-D1 to R1-D1.5 size range and most broke near poorly supported convex rolls.
