Weather

Overcast skies, though thin clouds at times and valley fog most of the day, with top of fog rising to ~9400 feet by early afternoon. Warm and humid, partly due to greenhousing. Winds mostly calm to light w a few gusty breezes. About 10" wet new snow at trailhead; 12-15" drier snow at higher elevations.

Snowpack

New snow on crusts or wet snow. Moist in AM; wet in PM BTL. Lots of roller balls. Spongy surface higher.

Avalanche

Several natural soft slabs in new snow on north-facing slopes in Fridge. Easily triggered wet slubs on steep walls of gully skier's left of exit that produced scary amounts of debris. Another party reported large slide reported from west face of Whitehouse mountain that put lots of debris on valley floor at bible camp. Several large debris piles in runouts of slide paths near Rapid Creek. Coudn't see start zones for these and couldn't tell whether it was debris from one large slide or multiple small slides.
