Weather

Ridgeline Winds were Calm. Surface snow above TL showed signs of previous wind loading on NW-N-NE aspects. The skies were clear and, in general, it was a stunning Sunday!

Snowpack

The Snowpack varied in depth from 70-30cm. In some areas, the southerly aspects near and below treeline have been stripped by sun and wind. Widespread surface hoar on near-surface facts sparkled as we moved though all elevations and aspects. (This will be an important layer to keep on eye on with the upcoming storm). On sunny aspects, the surface hoar was starting to decompose. The storm snow is decomposing, with moist snow on the ground.

Avalanche

SS-R2-D2 was observed at approximately 12,700 from 550 South on Red 3 on a N-NE aspect. From the highway could not tell if this was Natural or Rider triggered.
