Weather

Winds on Buffalo pass were heavy from south/ southwest. Gusts up to 50 mph from 9,000 to 10,780 ft elevation. Reports of significant winds below that elevation as well.

Snowpack

Significant wind depositing and loading onto northeast and Southeast aspects. Load has increased from yesterdays obs and very active.

Avalanche

firm soft slab remote trigger by a piece of cornice from a lower angle Northeast and skiers right of avalanche path. Slide happened in Soda drainage at around 9,400 ft elevation. The propagation was 150 feet wide. Crown approximately measured 8in to 2ft in the more loaded areas of the slope. The slope slid approximately 300 feet. Quality of the slide R3 D2.
