Weather: Hello spring! Temps warmed to 31ºF at 12k and 44ºF at 10k, under clear skies and light SW winds with gusts in the teens and 20’s. No snow transport.
Snowpack
Snowpack: Snow surface became moist or wet at high elevations, and very wet at lower elevations. Ski pen increased from <1†up to 3-5†as the day progressed. Started to feel a little unsupportive and trapdoor near trees/rocks from wetting. 4 handshots targeting windslabs that have formed over the past 2 days produced no results this morning while the snow was still dry.
Avalanche
Avalanches: Skier triggered small, slow moving wet rollerballs/sluffs on SW aspects above treeline. A handful of new wet sluffs on E and SE aspects above treeline in the Anthracite and Ruby Ranges.
