Snowpack

While we have had some very warm days, the snowpack is just in the infancy of its change to a more spring-like regime. The snowpack near and above treeline on all but south aspects is very much still in winter mode. New snow only amounted to 2", though was deposited up to 6" in some areas. New snow has not increased hazard. Thankfully, temperatures well below freezing have locked up any heat-induced instabilities. Cool temperatures in the forecast should continue this trend with exception to a few sluffs in yesterday's storm snow.
