Snowpack

Where we dug we had HS of 77. Buried surface hoar was 50 cm below surface interfacing with past weeks storm snow accumulations. Beneath surface hoar we noticed faceted grains to the ground. Overlying slab is getting to 4f plus. We had no shooting cracks or whumfing throughout the day and we skied low angle easts from 11200 to about 10800 feet. CT moderate Q1 results on the buried surface hoar and ECTN hard on same. Snowpack was supportive to skin and less so (trap door) to ski penetration on descent.
